Blind Cat Rescue free-motion embroidered bag, was for sale on Etsy but I’ve since taken it down

Getting back into it

Wow, hello! It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted here. For a while I had my own website and ran WordPress through there, but that got too expensive and now I’m back here! I haven’t sewed anything for several months due to moving several times and many of my things being packed away into storage! But I’ve gotten everything out of storage and I’m ready to start sewing again!

First on my agenda is a quick drawstring backpack for my boyfriend. I cut out all the pieces ages ago and I never got around to making it! Then I’m going to work on finishing my little quilt, which I’ll post pictures of later. Then on to sewing some small bags and phone cases for my Etsy shop!

I’ll be keeping track of my progress here, so please feel free to follow along!

Getting motivated

I’ve been trying to get motivated to start a new project…I’m so happy with the DJ bag that I’m afraid to start something new because it won’t be as great! I’ve been wanting to make some fabric journals using scraps, old manila folders, and printing lined paper with some cute animals to make the journals special and unique. I haven’t been able to come up with a journal paper design that I like. And I am going to need some fabric glue to finish the edges of the journals, which makes me not want to start without it…

Also I have a pattern and fabric for a cute skirt that I haven’t had the courage to start…working with patterns is so complicated and confusing for me. The directions seem like they’re written in another language. That’s why I want to get Sew What! Skirts, because there are no patterns and the directions are very clear!

Oh well. I’ll get up the nerve at some point.

Finished another bag and put it on Etsy

I finished another bag which I’m very proud of. I think it’s just gorgeous. It’s a square messenger bag called a “DJ bag”, and it’s meant to hold records. But really it can hold anything. I sewed pocket panels into the lining, so it can be used like a purse, or a combination purse/bookbag, or whatever anyone wants. I posted it on Etsy last night, but if it doesn’t sell, I would really like to keep it for myself!

Here’s my Etsy listing:
